The latest report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) shows the different iPhone models that men and women tend to prefer.
The data shows that men are more likely to buy the iPhone Pro, while women prefer the regular models. However, when asked about the iPhone SE, it can be said that both genders have an equal preference rate.
The results, in summary, are as follows:
- When it comes to iPhone 14 only, 12% of female customers purchased iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus, while only 8% of male customers purchased these models.
- 41% of men and 33% of women who bought a new iPhone in 2022 preferred the iPhone 13 Pro/Max or iPhone 14 Pro/Max.
- 37% of male and female customers have an iPhone 12 or 13 in both the basic and mini models.
- 7% of both genders own an iPhone SE.
In presenting this data from CIRP, “we do not take into account the database ego, technology comfort, selfie habits, or situations related to choosing a premium phone,” he says. “We leave these speculative assessments to the reader…”
Because the research did not show whether there were age or social class differences between the sexes, it is not possible to know why most men surveyed prefer a Pro model while women prefer regular models or why these trends are due.
