WHAT IS MINECRAFT BEDROCK VERSION?
Mojang, the Microsoft-owned developer of Minecraft, first released Minecraft: Education Edition on Chromebooks in 2020. However, this special edition required a school license or Office 365 Education account. The Bedrock Edition early access version of Minecraft, available now, works on any Chromebook that meets the minimum specifications.
WHAT DOES “EARLY ACCESS” MEAN?
Early access means that at this initial stage, only select Chromebook devices that meet the minimum requirements will have the option to purchase Minecraft. So you will have to check the Google Play Store to see if Minecraft is right for you.
Mojang team in a blog post. “This isn’t because we want to reserve some of our players privately (we love you all equally!), but because we want to test the game’s performance before rolling it out to more players,” he says.
WHEN WILL THE FINAL VERSION COME?
There is no confirmed release date for when the final version of Minecraft will be playable on Chromebooks. “When it’s officially released, anyone with a Chromebook will be able to download it from the Google Play Store,” says Mojang.
Minecraft’s arrival on Chromebooks is a significant step forward in giving millions of players more options. In this way, the use of the game for educational purposes can also increase. The developers of Minecraft say that they will continue to improve the Chromebook version and are waiting for feedback.
