Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft and owner of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, seems really excited about toilets. Ballmer couldn’t hide his excitement as he delivered a construction update on the new basketball venue Intuit Dome, currently under construction in Los Angeles.
The Intuit Dome will serve as the Clippers’ new arena, which has been under construction since 2021. Now the Dome’s toilets are complete, and as Ballmer excitedly points out, there are plenty of them. Ballmer was quite excited as he presented a construction update at a press conference attended by the team. Ballmer, also known for his loud voice, announced that there are now more than a thousand toilets in the Dome. For many, we can safely say that this isn’t the most exciting news in the world, but Ballmer is definitely excited.
Ballmer, on the microphone at the press conference, “Toilets! 1,160 toilets and urinals,” he roared, “three times the number of NBA average toilets. We don’t want people to wait in line, we want the fans to go back to their seats at the end of halftime, before the game.”
Ballmer is reportedly the richest team owner in the NBA, earning more than any other high-profile name like Mark Cuban (owner of Dallas Mavericks) and Michael Jordan (owner of Charlotte Hornets). The Clippers are worth a whopping $3.9 billion according to Forbes, making it a great investment for Ballmer, who bought the team for $2 billion in 2014.
