Japan Fails During Rocket Launch [Video]

Years ago, Japan started to develop a rocket called H3 in order to bring payloads to space. The rocket, which was developed by spending at least 1.5 billion dollars, was 63 meters long and 5.2 meters wide. Japan, which had a launch for the H3 in the past hours, unfortunately failed. H3 crashed due to problems after takeoff.

The H3 carried a terrain observation satellite developed by the Japanese Ministry of Defense. The launch, coordinated by the Japan Space Exploration Agency (JAXA), seemed uneventful at first. However, a few minutes after takeoff, an unexpected problem occurred. The second stage engines failed to fire. As such, the rocket fell on its own.

Trying to identify the source of the problem

Nagaoka Keiko, the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, made a statement on the incident. Nagaoka Keiko, who apologized to the public by stating that “the people and interested parties could not meet their hopes”, said that Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and JAXA are trying to determine the source of the problem.

The H3 isn’t Japan’s first rocket. The country built this rocket on the H2A rocket. The development goal of the H3 was to increase the payload capacity of the H2A by 1.3 times and cut the launch cost in half. However, at the present stage, such a thing has not happened. It is not yet known how Japan will work on H3 from now on.
