Today we are hosting TCL’s mid-segment QLED television C735 in our studio. TCL is one of the largest TV manufacturers in the world, the brand had a 20% market share in the Android TV category in 2021. In our country, they have been on the market for two years, and they introduced Android TVs to the market last year (2022), they have many models on sale now.

TCL TVs are sold with Bilkom assurance. Now let’s have a look at the features of the TCL C735. First of all, the C735 comes in 3 different size options as 55, 65 and 75 inches, the 65-inch version we have. The device has a thin bezel and comes with thin feet.

The thinness of the feet is the first question “Is it durable?” but the legs are pretty solid. When we look at the frame, we see a subframe with a brushed texture. In this part, there is the TCL logo in the middle and the ONKYO logo in the lower right. ONKYO and TCL have developed the speakers of this device together, and we will talk about its performance in the speaker part. On the left, right and top, there are thin bezels.

When we look at the hardware of the TCL C735, we can talk about the VA panel first. The device is produced with a VA panel, these panels are preferred to achieve high contrast ratio in a more cost-effective way, and when used with QLED, they greatly improve the user experience.

Let’s avoid a misunderstanding here: Some users may think that QLED is a type of panel, but QLED is not a panel, but a technology of producing light and color. It is an LED color enhancement type name with “Quantum” prefixed because it has larger color points than normal LED. So this device uses VA as display panel and QLED as color and light enhancement technology.

The screen using this technology comes with HDR, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision IQ support, so we can watch content in different color formats, movies and series with a higher color accuracy. In addition, the TV has a 144 Hz screen refresh rate, so the device can also be played while playing games. it offers us the refresh rates we need, it can MEMC up to 120 Hz.

MEMC stands for “Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation” meaning motion estimation and motion compensation, the TV can fix images from different frames to a certain frame and do this up to 120 Hz. The device also features AiSR (ultra super resolution, increasing the resolution of the image) and Multi View (dividing the screen into two) features to improve the user experience.
