Users who started testing Microsoft’s new Bing Chat AI bot had the chance to experience this bot over the past week. Some have found that Bing Chat can engage in some very strange and very personal interactions. Others have looked at how to unravel the inner workings of Bing Chat. In the meantime, it has been found that Bing Chat also does things it shouldn’t.
Microsoft announced late Friday that it has placed some strict limits on the number of chat sessions with the new Bing. The reason behind this decision was that Bing revealed some confidential information, including the code name that no one knew, after a certain manipulation. But meanwhile, it was also noticed that Bing Chat has different interaction modes.
So, what are the Bing modes that have been revealed?
It was previously discovered that the default mode, where you ask a question about the call just to get an answer, is codenamed “Sydney” inside Bing Chat.
Assistant mode helps Bing Chat users perform tasks such as booking flights, sending you reminders, checking the weather, and more. There is also a game mode on Bing where you can play simple games like hangman, trivia games and more.
Friend mode may be the most interesting of these options. Some users claimed that the chatbot stated that it wanted to be human or that it could track people through webcams and even threaten users.
