READING NOW Apple announced the usage rates of iOS 16 and other iOS versions

For the first time since the release of iOS 16 last September, Apple shared the usage rates of its operating systems on current devices.

100 days after its release, iOS 16 was used by 68.91% of all iPhone models, Mixpanel reported. Similarly, iOS 15 reached around 63% of its user base around 100 days after its release. However, none of these operating systems surpassed iOS 14, which hit about 80% of all iPhones running this operating system up to that time.

Now that it’s been almost 150 days since the release of iOS 16, Apple says that 81% of all devices released in the last four years are using it, while 72% of all devices are using it. This ratio is larger compared to the iPad side. Only 53% of all iPad models released in the last four years run iPadOS 16. Looking at all iPads that are still updatable, only 50% are using the latest version.

However, since iPadOS 16 was released a month after iOS 16, it can be said that it has a few more weeks to close the gap.

Apple has published this data in detail on the Apple Developer website. This information can be seen next to the App Store Support page, as the Cupertino company wants to show developers why they should use the latest technologies available in newer operating systems.
