Vint Cerf said that business people should not rush for artificial intelligence chat tools and invest only because this is a hot topic. “There is an ethical issue that I hope some of you will consider,” Cerf said in a statement. “Everyone’s talking about ChatGPT or Google’s version, and we know it doesn’t always work the way we want it to,” he said, referring to Google’s Bard speech AI, which was announced last week.
The father of the internet warns of artificial intelligence
As we mentioned in our previous news, OpenAI’s ChatGPT tool, Google’s Bard tool and Microsoft’s artificial intelligence integrated into Bing can make very obvious mistakes. It is not even sincere that people who are not careful believe these mistakes, because these models make the mistake they made or the wrong information they give as real.
However, Vint Cerf also warned the public about the use of these systems and said that they should be careful. Cerf states that the greed of humanity has not changed and artificial intelligence has not been developed for the benefit of people; “They will try to do what is for their benefit, not yours. So we must remember that and be careful about how we use these technologies.”
During his speech, Vint Cerf also touched upon the artificial intelligence models presenting something wrong as if it were real, and pointed out his area of responsibility; “On the engineering side, I think engineers like me should be responsible for finding a way to tame these technologies so they’re less likely to do harm.” Cerf also said that the medical advice these models would give could have unintended consequences.
