In a blog post, Google reminded that Google Searches has SafeSearch settings that prevent more adult content in search results for anyone who is signed in with a Google account under 18, and announced a feature that will take this one step further. The company will roll out a feature that automatically blurs explicit images in search results, even if SafeSearch is turned off in the coming months.

Google says that with the introduction of this feature to Search, it will default to anyone using the service with SafeSearch turned off. Predictably, people signed in to a Google account will be able to change the default setting from the settings page if they wish. It is not clear when exactly the new security feature will be implemented.

Google has also announced a new YouTube Kids playlist called “Build a Safer Internet”. This list contains appropriate videos that kids can watch with their parents to learn more about using the internet and technology safely and responsibly.
