In the investigation against Kayseri-based crypto exchange Bitrota, the suspects were asked to be imprisoned for up to 10,640 years.
Cryptocurrencies, which are becoming increasingly widespread and adopted, also increase fraud and financial losses. Especially recently, millions of people have suffered. Cryptocurrency exchanges such as FTX, Thodex, Vebitcoin came to the fore on the grounds that they defrauded their users. Finally, in the investigation against Bitrota, which is stated to have been established in Kayseri, ten suspects were asked to be imprisoned for up to 10,640 years.
Crypto Exchange Bitrota Investigation Completed
According to the news of NTV, the investigation carried out against ten suspects, one of whom is detained, who allegedly defrauded investors through the cryptocurrency exchange Bitrota, has been completed.
In the indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office; Information on the crypto industry such as Bitcoin, crypto money, digital wallet, and the legal status of Bitcoin was included.
In the indictment, it was stated that the suspects sent misleading messages to investors via Telegram via the crypto money exchange Bitrota and caused a victimization of approximately 54 million liras.
An investigation was launched in line with the Cimer applications and MASAK reports regarding the indictment that the founders and employees of Bitrota defrauded customers. The investigation included the following charges against the suspects;
- “Fraud using information systems, banks or credit institutions as tools.”
- “Fraud within the scope of the activity of the company director and the company.”
- “Laundering of property values”
It was stated that the stock exchange, which is the subject of the indictment, was established on 16 July 2018 in Kayseri.
