A company based in Australia named “Alauda Racing” has announced the world’s first flying racing car. The company, which carried out a successful test with this flying race car called “Airspeeder Mk3”, believes that it will open a new field in the world of motor racing. So, what features does the Airspeeder Mk3, the world’s first flying racing car, have?

Alauda Racing’s flying race car is basically a big drone. Engineers equipped the single-seat racing car they created with propellers, thus enabling the vehicle to fly. Of course, we can’t talk about any wheels in this case. In addition, Alauda Racing, which carries out a special study for the flying race car to perform a faster and more stable flight, separates the design of the Airspeeder Mk3 from the race cars we are used to.

Introducing the World’s First Flying Car Airspeeder Mk3

According to the statements made by the company, the flying race car you see above has a power of 320 kilowatts. This power enables the vehicle to reach 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Airspeed Mk3, which weighs about 130 kilograms on its own, is designed to carry a load of 80 kilograms easily. However, despite this, there will be no pilots in the vehicle in the races to be held. So why did the company take such a decision?

Alauda Racing states that the Airspeeder Mk3 is designed to be remotely controlled. This ensures that there is no need for a human inside the flying race car. At this point, engineers say that they have prepared a special simulation, and that the pilots will get on this simulation and control the Airspeeder Mk3. However, this does not mean that the pilot cannot get into this vehicle. The company only mentions that there is no need for such a thing.

Here are those moments when Airspeeder Mk3 made a successful flight:

It is unknown when the Airspeeder Mk3 will be fully available. However, Alauda Racing plans to popularize these race cars. If all goes well, a few years from now, we may have met another Formula 1-like motorsport. Speaking of Formula 1, it should be noted that just like Formula 1 cars, pit operations are needed for the Airspeeder Mk3 to continue racing.
