A senior US official evaluating the initiative shortly before the official announcement described it as the first comprehensive AI agreement between the US and Europe. He also said that earlier agreements on the matter were limited to certain areas, such as enhancing privacy.
It will accelerate public services
Artificial intelligence modeling, which will be created to conduct research in five main areas, will be used to increase the speed and efficiency of public operations and services.
The AI deal is currently between the US and the European Commission, the executive arm of the 27-member European Union. Other countries will be invited to participate in the coming months.
