Apple’s recently launched 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros feature new and more powerful M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, as well as Wi-Fi, the latest Wi-Fi standard that supports an additional wireless band and boosts internet speeds. It also supports 6E connection. According to a recent analysis by Barclays, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the iPhone 15 series also supports Wi-Fi 6E.

In fact, this is not the first time we have encountered news that claims that Wi-Fi 6E will come to iPhone. There was similar news before the iPhone 14 launch more than a year ago, but the phone has yet to gain this feature.

A Wi-FI 6E upgrade for the iPhone 15 seems plausible right now as Apple is expected to launch its first-generation mixed reality headset this year. Apple’s AR/VR headset is expected to support Wi-Fi 6E, and the wireless connectivity standard could be a key component in Apple’s ecosystem.

While Apple has yet to reveal how the mixed reality headset will work, it can be predicted that Wi-Fi will play a big part in the overall experience. Wi-Fi will not only enable the headset to connect to the internet to enjoy VR apps, but also be responsible for data sharing with Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Unfortunately, as is often the case with this type of news, there is no way to confirm future Wi-Fi 6E support for the iPhone 15. Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Tom O’Malley believe the 2023 iPhones will have a faster Wi-Fi system. However, analysts do not specify which iPhone 15 models will support Wi-Fi 6E.

Which iPhone 15 models can have Wi-Fi 6E?

The new sales model that emerged with the iPhone 14 also makes things a little more complicated. With the iPhone 14 series, Apple has placed non-Pro and Pro models in very different positions from each other. Now, the difference between the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) and the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to become evident. So the new Wi-Fi standard can only take place in Pro Max.

Meanwhile, it’s fair to say that Wi-Fi 6E support alone is enough for faster internet and lower latency and signal interference. Besides that, you need to have a relatively new router (or modem) in your home or office that supports Wi-FI 6E…
