According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple will equip the iPhone 15 Pro, which will be released this year, with a periscope camera with 5x optical zoom. The source says the Cupertino company is in talks with Zhejiang Lante Optics about component procurement.
100 million orders
It is stated that Apple is already evaluating the samples. The tech giant will make a decision by May. If the negotiations are successful, the periscope camera will be supplied by Zhejiang Lante Optics.
The iPhone 14 Pro, which debuted last year, was updated with a 48-megapixel camera instead of the 12-megapixel camera used for six years. The periscope camera that has been available on Android smartphones for years is still absent on iPhones. This shortcoming is expected to be eliminated with the iPhone 15 series.
