Nvidia, which has released GeForce MX series graphics cards for thin and light laptops, seems to make a significant change in its future plans. China-based broadcasting resource ITHome has revealed that Nvidia will part ways with its long-running MX series.

Things get tough for the Nvidia MX series

For those who don’t know, Nvidia recently launched the MX 570, which has similar features to the RTX 2050 in the 15-25W range. Based on a 64-bit memory bus, GDDR6 memory and 2048 CUDA cores, the model offers performance close to the Intel Arc A370M, GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 6300M graphics cards.

Today, however, Intel and AMD have accelerated their integrated GPU work with the popularity of handheld consoles. Because the two companies have new video codecs and even integrated graphics solutions that support AI-accelerated workloads. These Iris and RDNA 2 iGPUs also allow users to access popular MMO or casual games.

In addition to AMD and Intel, Nvidia will launch the RTX 4050 mobile graphics card with 35W TDP for laptops. Thus, we can say that the gap between the low-power MX series and low-end cards will gradually narrow. The company has not yet announced whether the MX series cards will continue. However, the company’s silence for MX models with Ada Lovelace architecture also confirms the leaks.
