A new leak has emerged about the foldable phone models that Samsung will introduce this year. Thanks to the technology it has developed, Samsung will solve the screen fold trace problem in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 model.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 screen will say goodbye to folding track with dumbbell hinge
Oppo Find N2 and Motorola Razr 2022 models contributed to the opening of a new era in the foldable phone screen. Companies will compete with each other to eliminate the folding trace problem in foldable phones that are expected to be introduced this year.
According to a report in the Korean publication Naver, Samsung will adopt a “waterdrop” style display structure for the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which the company calls the dumbbell hinge internally. One of the biggest advantages of the design change is that there will be no gap between the two halves of the phone when the screen is folded. The design, whose patent image has been leaked, will greatly reduce the visibility of the fold trace in the Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The new model, which will come up with the version specially produced for Samsung, will use the performance core running at 3.36GHz. The other cores of the processor will run at 2.8GHz and 2.0GHz frequencies.
The resolution of the device, which is stated to be introduced with a 7.6 inch internal screen size, will be 1768 x 2208 pixels. The screen of the device, which will be presented with a foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2x, will be protected by Gorilla Victus. It is worth noting that the device will have IPX8 certification.
The new model will appear with the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 interface. Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 models are expected to be introduced in the third quarter of 2023.
