‘Yellow’ Municipality Taxis to Depart in Istanbul Introduced

While the taxi debate in Istanbul has been going on for months, today a new step has come from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to solve the problems. The municipality introduced its new taxis that will serve the residents of Istanbul.

The features of the taxis were also shared in the video shared from the municipality’s social media accounts. The prototype of the taxis, which will start service in February, was shown as follows:

According to the municipality’s statement, 2,125 new taxis will be put into service as of February. The target date to reach the desired number is the end of April.

The vehicles will be arranged for 8+1 people and will also host a disabled ramp. In addition, there will be a security compartment between the driver and the passenger and communication will be established with the push-to-talk system.
