iPhone 16 Pro may have under-screen camera
According to The Elec, Apple will make a significant change to the screen of the iPhone 16 Pro. For a more useful screen area, the iPhone 16 Pro will switch to under-screen Face ID technology. According to the report, Apple will move the TrueDepth components required for Face ID directly under the iPhone screen in 2024. When the camera required for FaceID is not used, the area will look like a normal screen, so only the front camera’s lens is visible on the screen.
On the other hand, it is emphasized once again that all four models in the iPhone 15 series will have the Dynamic Island feature. In fact, the under-screen camera technology discourses about the iPhone date back to 2019. On the other hand, in May 2022, screen analyst Ross Young stated that Apple has a roadmap in this regard. The new information largely confirms Young.
Additionally, under-screen camera technology is not new to Android. For example, Samsung used under-screen cameras in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4. We also saw this technology in Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. Apart from these companies, there were companies that also included under-screen cameras, but the basic problem is the same in all of them: Insufficient quality. Apple still has a long time to resolve this issue.
