How will shorts revenue share be?
So, how will Shorts revenue sharing work? Every month, revenue from advertisements between Shorts videos will be collected and some will be given to Shorts content producers, and some will be used to cover music licensing costs.
A portion of the total revenue will be transferred to the producer pool based on the viewing of the short videos watched and the music usage. If there is no music in the Shorts video, all revenue associated with the view will go to the producer pool. If there is music, it will be shared between the creator and music partners based on the number of tracks used. Creators who earn money from Shorts will be allocated revenue based on their share of total video views in the producer pool.
Only original videos will be accepted ✅
There’s no place on Shorts for people trying to monetize other people’s videos on YouTube. Non-original shorts videos, snapshots from a movie or TV show, videos from other creators on YouTube or any other platform are not eligible for Shorts revenue sharing. In addition, tricks to increase the number of views, such as automatic clicks and bots that advance the video, are also prohibited.
