As it is known, long-term exposure to blue light can cause various discomforts and vision problems. Samsung claims that the new OLED panels to be used in laptops reduce the blue light spectrum by 70% or even more. It is stated that Gen 2 LBL (Low Blue Light) technology uses advanced artificial intelligence and the latest organic materials. The new OLED panel can provide a maximum brightness of 2000 nits for each of the three primary colors, while filtering out more than 70% of harmful blue light.
Samsung’s Gen 2 LBL technology greatly reduces blue light without sacrificing image quality and color fidelity, unlike software-based blue light filters that cover the entire image with an intense yellow tint.
We will see laptops using Samsung Display’s Gen 2 LBL technology OLED panels this year, but it is unclear which brands will prefer these panels. Meanwhile, Apple is said to use Samsung OLED technology in the 20-inch MacBook model.
