In June of last year, Horona tried to force her cat to swim in a bathtub where the water exceeded its height, and shared the images of the poor cat struggling to avoid drowning on social media.
This video, which seemed like entertainment for Horona, was rightly criticized, and animal rights activists reported Horona to the authorities. Taking action after long complaints, the police arrested the 59-year-old man on 20 October and sent him to prison.
Expert veterinarians have confirmed that Horona tormented the cat
Although Horona admits to forcing her cat to swim in the tub, she denies torturing her pet, police said in a statement. Thereupon, the police showed the video Horona shared to many expert veterinarians, and experts defined this action as torture, stating that the water escaping into the lungs of the cat could cause serious diseases.
Horona moved to a place far from her home after the complaints she received because of the video, which, according to the statements made, shows that Horona will come to the door of the police one day and therefore she wants to run away. However, the police managed to locate Horona upon complaints and sent the 59-year-old man to prison.
