WhatsApp, the messaging platform that wants to combat this, announced that it will bring a brand new feature.
The application, which is the most popular in the world in its field, announced on its official site that it started to offer proxy support all over the world. The company stated that it will be able to access the platform through servers created by volunteers and organizations dedicated to helping those who cannot reach WhatsApp install it.
Referring to the internet outages in Iran, WhatsApp wants to enable everyone to communicate freely with the new feature.
WhatsApp added that connecting via proxy will have no effect on the privacy and security measures provided by the application, and personal messages will continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption. In addition, the platform stated that its wish for 2023 is not to experience internet interruptions, and referred to what has been happening in Iran for months. Adding that the cuts in the country deprive many of their human rights, the company added that it hopes the solution they offer will help everyone if the cuts continue.

By choosing a proxy, you can connect to WhatsApp through servers set up by volunteers and organizations around the world to help people communicate freely.
Connecting through a proxy does not diminish the high level of privacy and security that WhatsApp provides. Your personal messages remain protected with end-to-end encryption. This way, your messages stay between you and the person you’re communicating with and are invisible to anyone else, including proxy servers, WhatsApp and Meta.”
How to use proxy support coming to WhatsApp?
According to the platform, the new feature is available to everyone. First of all, you should make sure that your application is the latest version. If not, you can go to the app store and update it.
To use the feature, first go to ‘Settings’.
After that, you need to click on the ‘Storage and Data’ section.
You will see that there is a section called ‘Proxy’ on the page that opens.
Finally, after activating the ‘Use proxy’ section, the feature can be used.
