May blunt children’s learning skills
Jenna Lyle, spokesperson for the New York City education department, explained that they made this decision because they were concerned about the “reliability and accuracy” of their responses, as well as the potential negative impact of the chatbot on students’ learning process.
It was emphasized that ChatGPT provides quick and easy answers to questions, but does not develop children’s problem solving and critical thinking skills, which are necessary in their academic life and throughout their lives.
