Resident Evil, one of the classic action-horror series of the game world, inspired many games in this genre. The popular indie action game, originally developed as Resident Evil 2 Reborn, but later released as Daymare 1998, became free.
Daymare 1998 free on GOG for a limited time
Developed as an unofficial adaptation of Resident Evil 2, Daymare 1998 would originally be called Resident Evil 2 Reborn. Resident Evil’s developer, Capcom, did not accept this and said that it was working on its own remake. Instead of stopping the project, the indie developer released it as Daymare 1998.
Presented by Invader Studios in 2019, the game managed to go beyond independent production. Even Satoshi Nakai and Kazuhiro Aoyama, well-known names in the Resident Evil series, helped develop Daymare 1998.
Many elements we know from Resident Evil, such as limited ammo, zombie enemies, and challenging puzzles, are present in Daymare 1998. The independent production, which especially appeals to action-horror lovers, is now available for free on Gog.com.
Offering a Resident Evil-like experience, the indie production will be available for free on GOG until January 2. Don’t forget to add it to your library to try this game, which combines the best elements of the classic horror series with innovative gameplay.
