We are just a short time away from leaving 2022 behind. This year, we also witnessed Apple breaking a tradition from the past. For the first time since 2001, the Cupertino tech giant didn’t launch a new Mac in the fourth quarter.

Apple was expected to introduce the next-generation MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computers by the end of 2022. However, according to the latest leaks, the announcement of the devices has been postponed to next year. The fact that tomorrow is the last day of 2022 is already a sign that the last quarter of the year will pass without a Mac.

The wait will continue for new Macs

Historically, Apple has always released at least one new Mac model in the fourth calendar quarter from October to December since the iBook G3 was released in 2001. This year it was empty.

The last Mac released by Apple was the MacBook Air M2, which was released on July 15. The wait has been on since then and will apparently continue until March. Because many sources close to the company point to the first quarter of 2023 for new Mac computers.
