AMD: Contact Support
“We are aware that a limited number of users are experiencing unexpected thermal throttling on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards (reference models made by AMD),” AMD told Tom’s Hardware in an official statement. Users experiencing unexpected thermal throttling on AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX should contact AMD Support.”
The problem is with the reference model of the RX 7900 XTX
According to AMD, 110 degrees Celsius is the normal port temperature for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX but the current general suspicion is that the cooling elements of the reference Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards are not well designed. Some user accounts claim that reapplying the TIM or replacing it with a thermal pad is a viable solution. However, the AMD team is currently investigating the issue, while PowerColor has begun collecting user feedback to assist with the investigation.
AMD hasn’t announced a firm date for support for the issue, but the chip manufacturer has advised affected users to contact the company’s support team. However, many consumers experiencing the issue are reportedly returning Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics cards to AMD or the retailer.
