All of the innovations listed below were also seen in beta versions of WhatsApp. It’s only a matter of time before these features become available to all users, not just certain testers, in the main release.
1. Message editing
The ability to edit messages on WhatsApp has been a topic of discussion for some time. This highly requested feature is expected to finally arrive in 2023. With the new feature, messages can now be edited within 15 minutes of being sent.
2. Picture-in-Picture (PIP) for video calls
The picture-in-picture (PIP) feature during video calls is a very useful function for multitasking. This means you can leave the WhatsApp app to do something else on your device while chatting with a friend.
3. Voice status update
Many people use the status update feature on WhatsApp. But it could be a welcome addition next year in the form of audio updates. According to the leaked information, you will be able to send up to 30 seconds of voice notes to your status updates.
4. Searching messages by date
Searching on WhatsApp has improved a lot in recent years, but sifting through thousands of conversations can still be difficult. Fortunately, the developers are working on another way to narrow the results. Leaks show that a tool has been developed to set date ranges for message searches, and this functionality is expected to be available to users in 2023.
