Technology giant Microsoft has announced that it is making formulas easier with new features in its spreadsheet service Excel.One of the problems users face when using Excel is choosing the most appropriate formula to apply in each situation. Another problem is not being able to remember the formula exactly, so the company developed a new format called “Formula Suggestions”.
Formula Suggestions
With this function, the user just has to type the ‘=’ sign in the formula bar or the cell itself. Excel will automatically suggest the formula it thinks is most appropriate, taking into account the contextual data.
Formula by Example
Another new feature is the “Formula by Pattern” function, which allows cells to be filled quickly according to a certain pattern. This feature will suggest users to fill the entire column with a certain formula if they identify a pattern while manually and repetitively entering data in a column.
Microsoft also announced in its blog post that it has made further improvements to Windows, Mac and the web version of the app, noting that the new features are designed to help users save time and learn more about Excel formulas.
