Users of Web3 crypto wallet BitKeep suffered a hack that resulted in the theft of nearly $8 million in customer funds.
Hacking attacks are incessant in the crypto industry. So far, millions of investors have suffered in billions of dollars of hacking. Web3, DeFi and NFT side were exposed to intense hacking events. Hackers, who take advantage of smart contracts and vulnerabilities in the code structure, carry out attacks at regular intervals. Finally, the Web3 crypto wallet BitKeep has suffered. Many BitKeep users lost around $8 million due to hack attacks.
Crypto Wallet BitKeep Addresses Hacked User Funds
Singapore-based Web3 crypto wallet BitKeep touched on the $ 8 million hacking attack suffered by its users. The platform announced that some of its users have downloaded the hacked APK version of BitKeep. This APK version hijacked users’ wallet information and seized $8 million in assets.
Blockchain security researcher PeckShield shared information about the hack attack on Twitter. According to the security agency’s investigation, hackers stole four pieces of cryptocurrency. These were 4,373 BNB, 5.4 million dollar USDT, 196 thousand dollar DAI and 1,233 ETH.
The research suggested that the person behind the hack moved the assets to BNB Chain. In the announcement made by BitKeep, it was stated that a call was made to Binance regarding BNB Chain.
