A new feature is being added to e-Government, which enables official transactions to be carried out over the internet and has been serving for dozens of transactions so far. The feature, which will be implemented with the works to be carried out by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK), will enable the identity verification processes of citizens who want to obtain e-signatures over the internet. In this way, citizens will not have to go to the application centers to verify their identity.
The e-signature system provides great convenience for citizens. Thanks to this service, people can sign documents digitally and easily handle their official transactions. According to the authorities, e-signature, which is used by at least 5 million people, will be obtained more easily thanks to the new feature to be added to e-Government. As of December 21, 2021, citizens will be able to verify their identity over the internet for their e-signature applications.
Assistance will be received from artificial intelligence and video conferencing systems

Speaking to İhlas News Agency, Kılıç said, “Even though we finalize the e-signature process in 15 minutes, our citizens have to come to our application center in person due to the face-to-face identity verification requirement. This causes a great loss of time for our citizens who want to obtain e-signatures. A change has been made with the regulation prepared by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK).
Orhan Kılıç also explained how the new system will work. “According to the regulation published in the Official Gazette, e-signature applications can be made via e-Government as well as artificial intelligence method and video conference method. The e-signature will be delivered to your address in a day or two by a special courier after it is done. This method will save both time and money. A model that is more environmentally friendly and less harmful because paper costs are reduced. will emerge.
E-signature can also be loaded on new identity cards
Orhan Kılıç, Chairman of the Board of E-İmzaTR, gave a second good news to the citizens. Stating that e-signatures can now be loaded on new generation identity cards, Kılıç said, “With the communiqué made in the regulation on the implementation of the electronic signature law and published in the Official Gazette, identity holders of the Republic of Turkey, that is, citizens with a chip ID card, will be able to have a qualified electronic certificate, namely e-signature, uploaded to their identities. This process will be done through identity access devices. Citizens who want to have an electronic signature loaded on their Republic of Turkey ID card will be able to upload an e-signature to the Republic of Turkey ID card within a few minutes from any point with an ID access device. These changes and innovations will save our country, our citizens, and our industry; It will bring convenience.”
