The image captured on-air was of poor quality, but analysts noticed that the Windows design in this high-resolution redesign was very different from the “eleventh” version of the operating system.
In particular, the image featured a floating taskbar, a floating search menu, and system icons at the top right of the screen, and a weather widget at the top left.
Windows 12 will be optimized for touch devices
The next major Windows update is still in the prototype stage, but sources familiar with the situation said the prototype shown during Ignite reflects what Microsoft is aiming for in the next Windows release. Of course, only a fraction of the possible innovations have been shown at the moment, and in reality there will be more.
While Windows 12 is expected to have a new lock screen and a new notification center, the developers’ main goal is to make the operating system more “touchable”.
