District Judge Ronnie Abrams withdrew from the Sam Bankman–Fried case, citing allegations against his wife and preventing potential conflicts.
In the crypto winter, the legal processes of FTX events are heavily on the agenda. Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the former b of the bankrupt stock market, is on trial for fraud and abuse. Most recently, SBF was placed under house arrest, paying a $250 million bail. In these days of intense litigation, District Judge Ronnie Abrams announced that he is withdrawing from the SBF case. Abrams stated that he took such a decision in order to prevent possible political conflicts.
Judge Ronnie Abrams Won’t Continue Sam Bankman-Fried Process
District Judge Ronnie Abrams has decided to withdraw his participation in legal proceedings involving former CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried.
Abrams announced that his wife, Greg Andres, became a partner of Davis Polk and Wardwell, a consultant to FTX, in 2021. This company came up with representation in FTX cases. Making a statement with the emergence of the allegations, Abrams stated that his wife had nothing to do with the representatives.
Nevertheless, Abrams decided to withdraw from the case in order to avoid conflicts and impressions that may arise in the legal processes of FTX.
