Instagram opens its doors for desktop and browser
Instagram users have been waiting for such an update for the past few years. Especially due to the pandemic, many people now continue their work and school life on their computers. Therefore, while platforms such as Twitter and Facebook could be accessed through desktop applications and browsers, Instagram restricted some features at this point and directed them to mobile for efficient use.
Another advantage of this upcoming update is for brands and professionals. People who edit photos and videos on computers will now be able to share directly without the hassle of transferring files to mobile devices. Some of the new upcoming features were put to trial earlier this year. After receiving positive feedback about the situation, the platform decided to make this feature permanent. The change on the site is expected to enter our lives as of October 21.
Stories will be 60 seconds!
When you access the platform via the browser, the first change you will notice will be that it allows you to create a Story by combining photos and videos shorter than 60 seconds. In addition, Instagram will allow you to tag in the shares made for collaboration and advertising purposes, just like in the mobile application, and you will be able to send an invitation to someone to share the post with you.
If the other party accepts the invitation you sent, the relevant content will be added to the profiles of both parties and will be visible to everyone. Likewise, the likes, views and comments on the post you have made will progress synchronously through both profiles.
The platform also allows fundraising on both mobile and browser. In this way, when you press the plus button, you will see a separate option that allows you to raise money for non-profit charities.
Instagram has not forgotten to improve the existing features. There are new effects that change according to the lyrics and background track added in sync with the music. There will also be some special options to attract TikTok users to the platform.
