In new versions of iOS and Android, users who enter sites that support passkeys can pass the authentication step using biometric authentication on a trusted device. It is said that Passkey support will also come to the Chrome Android app.
When the user enters a site from the computer, they can use the pass key by scanning the QR code with the mobile device nearby. Since there is only a securely generated code exchange with the site, there is no risk of leaking, unlike the password.
