Xiaomi announced on Thursday that it will launch the Xiaomi 13 series, a new high-end phone series that will rival Samsung and Apple’s flagship phones, which it announced that it postponed on the day it announced earlier this week.
In a group post on Weibo, the company shared images showing the design of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, as well as a large Leica-branded camera protrusion. The Xiaomi 13 appears to have bezel-edges similar to the iPhone 14, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a tapered edge.
Xiaomi has already revealed some of the features of its upcoming high-end phone. The company said that both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and each will have a telephoto camera capable of 3.26x optical zoom. The Pro model will have a larger sensor that takes the form of a giant 1-inch sensor for the main camera.
Xiaomi did not comment on the global release date. Still, judging from Xiaomi’s history, the high-end series is usually launched in international markets a few months after launching in China.
