According to the statements, AMD will only ship 10,000 of its reference cards to the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region, which includes both the RX 7900 XTX and the RX 7900 XT. On the other hand, 3000 units of cards will be assigned to Germany, while 7000 units of cards will be shared with the remaining regions.
Radeon RX 7900 series may experience supply shortage
Meanwhile, Chinese media outlets have confirmed that AMD’s reference cards will not be sold in the country. This is reportedly the result of a tense situation with Taiwan. However, only specialty cards will be available at launch, which will almost certainly bring higher prices and lower supply. On the other hand, the Chinese GPU market is saturated by Nvidia, and AMD’s cards were not expected to achieve serious success here anyway.
In addition, BoardChannels claims that the production of Radeon RX 7900 cards has also been affected by the current COVID-19 outbreaks and the closure of some factories. It is even stated that some factories have just opened. This means a supply shortage for launch.
