It’s getting easier to view old notifications
In the current version of iOS 16, old notifications do not appear in Notification Center like they did in iOS 15. Swipe up from the middle of the screen to see old notifications. In other words, when a new notification arrives, when the user unlocks and closes the iPhone, iOS recognizes this gesture as the old notification and hides it in Notification Center. Notifications, including important notifications, are overlooked.
In iOS 16.2 beta 4, the lock screen continues to hide old notifications unless you swipe up from the middle of the screen. However, if the iPhone is unlocked, old notifications can be seen in the Notification Center, which can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen.
