Blockchain has been one of the biggest terms that has marked the last years. Of course, cryptocurrencies, which show a critical increase in value compared to 5 to 10 years ago and make many people rich (and sometimes bankrupt), play a big role in this.

For this reason, most countries that wanted to follow the developments closely directed their studies to this field. We have seen breakthroughs in this field in our country as well. The last one came from Istanbul University. Let’s look at the details together.

Here is Istanbul BTC:

This initiative, whose full name is ‘Istanbul University Faculty of Economics Block Chain Technologies and Innovation Center’, will act as a center in blockchain studies.

In the center in question, social events will be held, projects will be carried out, and young people will be given training on blockchain.

Not only for students of the faculty of economics:

With this center, the students of the faculty of economics will receive training on blockchain as well as the information they have learned. But Istanbul University Faculty of Economics Dean Prof. Dr. According to Yorgun, the aim of the center is to educate all young people in this field, not just economics students.

Yorgun’s words are as follows: “One of the important issues of this country is that it follows the developments from behind. With this step we have taken, I am happy to have implemented a centralized blockchain, one of the most important technologies of the 21st century, in one of the state universities, the country’s first university and an economics faculty.”

The center has three computer labs:

One of them is the developer lab. The other two have 60 Windows computers for teamwork. In addition, the fourth area is the area of social innovation. Social projects, seminars and different events will be held here.

There are 76 computers in total in the center. Assoc. Dr. According to Emre Akadal, it has already been created.

It would actually be installed earlier:

Informing that the center was postponed due to obstacles such as the pandemic, business development coordinator Dr. Enes Özkan also stated that trainings will be given in the near future and that the center will be opened to general participation later.
