A statement came from Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality

The Former General Directorate, which issued a press release on the subject, stated that this event was experienced under the control of technical personnel and was shared on social media by citizens with a humorous fiction. Here is the press release in question:

“At 23.11.2022 at 13:20, the notification that the Sumatik device on Çamlıca Birlik Caddesi does not accept money was sent to our support team via ALO-185. Our technical staff, who received the call, went to the Sumatik region and started the control of the device. He checked whether there was a money or foreign substance jam. Then he took the card from the waiting citizen to insert his card into the machine and the amount to be loaded, manually fed the money mechanism in the cabin, operated the system like a live teller and checked for malfunctions. It consists of manual uploading to the payment mechanism under the control of our technical personnel, which was videotaped by the citizen and shared on social media with a humorous fiction.

There is no element of abuse in the incident. Our citizen who shared it was interviewed, and he stated that he was extremely sorry that this post, which he made without any ulterior motive, was used for negative purposes on many different social media platforms. The situation consists of operating the device with the cabin as an open teller until the defective part is replaced so that our citizens waiting during the water filling can load. After the part replacement was completed, automatic loading was resumed.
