After capturing an important leadership in 5G equipment infrastructure, Chinese companies that attracted the attention of the USA and were blacklisted do not give up the leadership in 6G. The race with the West has already begun.

Who is ahead in the 6G race?

5G technologies have not been made widely available yet, but 6G studies have already started and will be finalized in 2030. Chinese manufacturers and the Information Technologies institution are taking quick steps on 6G.

According to the information received, a total of 38 thousand patent applications were made on 6G and 13449 of them belong to Chinese companies. This equates to about 35 percent. The USA comes in second with 18%.

Last week, ZTE performed important tests. 6G autonomous network and digital twin network, 6G network processing power, 6G THz technology, communication acceptance integration and smart surface technologies were the categories included in these tests. It is stated that these categories have a great role in the formation of 6G infrastructure.

The western world, on the other hand, is testing 6G with equipment manufactured by Nokia and Ericsson. Millions of dollars are invested in determining a 10-year projection. Teams of key researchers are particularly focused on hardware security.

It is estimated that connection speeds with 6G infrastructures will increase to 1Tbps, which is 1000 times better than the 1Gbps speeds already achieved with 5G mmWave. Of course, we have not yet seen promises such as a 250 trillion dollar market that will be formed by 5G technologies, autonomous vehicles, remote surgeries, and smooth connection in high-speed trains. A much longer process may apply for 6G.
