Oppo introduced the expected high-end phone Oppo Reno 9 in China today. Reno 9, which comes out with a new design compared to its predecessor, includes three models. All three phones look almost the same but have slightly different specs. Let’s start with the Oppo Reno 9 and Reno 9 Pro, then move on to the top model Reno 9 Pro Plus features.What does Oppo Reno 9 Pro & Reno 9 offer with its features?
The flat Reno 9 and Reno 9 Pro models feature a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels, supporting 120Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole display can reach up to 950 nits of brightness, is protected by a 10-bit panel and Asahi Glass AGC DT-Star 2. The Pro model has MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100-Max processor, while the flat model has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 processor. The Pro model also has MariSilicon X NPU for image processing.
The Reno9 Pro and Reno9 are available with different memory options, but both models come with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phones, which come with Android 13-based ColorOS 13 software, have a 32MP RGBW camera with autofocus on the front. When we turn the back of the phones, we come across different camera setups. Reno 9 has 64MP main camera, 2MP monochrome camera. The Reno 9 Pro has a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX890) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
Having dual SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC and USB-C connectivity options, the Reno 9 and 9 Pro feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, graphite cooling system and infrared sensor. Both phones are powered by a 4500mAh battery that supports 67w wired fast charging.
What does Oppo Reno 9 Pro Plus offer with its features?
Oppo Reno Pro Plus with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor is the first Reno series phone to come with built-in optical image stabilization (OIS). The Reno 9 Pro+ has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming. The edges of the screen are curved, and there is a hole notch in the middle, as in other models.
A setup consisting of a 32MP (Sony IMX709) selfie camera with autofocus at the front, a 50MP main camera with OIS support (Sony IMX890) at the back, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP mono lens and LED flash welcomes us. The Reno 9 Pro Plus is also equipped with the MariSilicon chip, which is said to enable brighter and clearer shots. The phone supports 60fps 4K video recording.
On the processor side, although the phone uses the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, Oppo has done a speed reduction. The processor is set to run at 2.99GHz, while normally running at 3.19GHz. Coming with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, the phone is powered by a 4700mAh battery that supports 80w wired, 50W wireless fast charging. Finally, the phone comes out of the box with Android 13 based on ColorOS 13.
