Sony does not plan to release the new PlayStation before 2027
The document was made public today as part of the UK’s competition authority’s in-depth review of Microsoft’s bid to buy Activision Blizzard for $68 billion.
As it is known, Sony strongly objects to this merger between Microsoft and Activision. A text in the document also includes a section about the duration of Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony emphasizes that it will lose its access to the popular series in 2027. What follows is the most striking part, and the company states that when the next generation of the PlayStation console comes out, it will lose access to CoD and other Activision games.
