Recently, with the increase in electricity prices and incentives, the return times of PV panels have been shortened, and many developments are in great effort all over the world, both with their efficiency and price, or with their installation and even with solar tracking systems.

Until now, the angles of the panels were related to the latitude of the region in which they were installed. While it was more oblique towards the equator, a steeper installation structure was based on when we went north.

But what was inconspicuous was the sunshine situation in cloudy weather. Since the sun’s rays are scattered when they pass through the clouds, the more angled positioning of the panels towards the cloud allows them to produce more energy. In fact, solar tracking systems can produce much more energy by switching to a completely horizontal position in cloudy weather.

Now, scientists have developed the calculation of being able to suggest different angles for different cities at the same latitude, using 12 years of weather information and solar radiation records. In this way, detailed calculations were made for 212 cities in Italy and France.

Thus, energy production gains of up to 4% were developed in some cities. As a result of the study, they managed to increase the efficiency of PV panels from 21% to 21.8%.
