Anatoly Yakovenko, Co-Founder of Solana Labs, urges validators to update nodes despite some downsides.

Earlier in the week, the project team released a snapshot of the state of the Solana network to prove the transparency of operations while most users were concerned about the impact of the FTX collapse. According to the data presented, the average number of transactions per second is currently 2,000. The average block time has also improved and is now around 0.5 milliseconds. On the downside, there has been a decrease in network activity, which is reflected in the decrease in the number of daily programs used. Solana is still improving its updates to stay afloat.

Update Call from Solana Founder

Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, urged all validators to update to the latest version of the node, 1.13.5.

According to Yakovenko, the update will fix all Solana network outages caused by overloading UDP-based protocols. Previously, this issue caused prolonged shutdown of the Solana network, which is still in the testing phase. According to Solscan, most of the largest validators on the Solana network are still not updated. Only 44.53 percent of all validators have been updated to the latest version.

The fact that nodes are blocked by big data servers, centralized storage, long outages, and the co-founder personally asking validators to update are some questions in the crypto community’s mind.
