Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, lifted former US President Donald Trump’s permanent ban on the social network at the weekend and opened the way for him to return to Twitter by returning his account. And naturally, everyone’s eyes are once again on the former US president. But for now, it looks like Donald Trump has little intention of returning to the social network.
Musk, in a poll he opened last Friday, asked Twitter users for their opinions on whether Trump should be brought back to the platform. 51.8 percent of those polled voted for Trump to return to the social network.
Musk tweeted “People have spoken” when the poll concluded, and on Saturday, the @realDonaldTrump account was reactivated.
Trump, on the other hand, said in a video interview with a Republican group after this decision that he saw a lot of trouble on Twitter. As part of his comments reported by Bloomberg, Trump said he plans to stick with Truth Social, the social network he helped launch earlier this year.
Twitter, along with many other social networks, suspended Trump’s official account after the January 6 Capitol Hill riots and imposed a permanent ban.
