Counter Strike: Global Offensive’s iconic map Dust 2 has been removed from the active map pool and replaced by the Anubis map. This announcement was made from the CS:GO official Twitter account.

While both Dust 2 and Anubis will continue to be played in casual, deathmatch and competitive modes, they will be removed from the active map pool. This means that Dust 2 will no longer be playable at pro level, nor will anyone looking for games in the active map pool.

He was replaced by Anubis

This change comes shortly after the end of the IEM Rio Major, the second major CS:GO tournament of 2022. This change to active maps will affect those playing in the next tournament, the BLAST Paris Major. So players will be fighting on Anubis instead of Dust 2 in the next big tournament.

Dust 2 is one of Counter Strike’s most iconic maps. A map that many casual players still play. Since it has not been renewed for a long time, it has lost interest from top players. There is no word on whether Dust 2 will be reworked. There are rumors that both Dust 2 and Mirage will be reworked when the switch to Source 2 takes place.
