Founded in 1909, Germany-based automobile company Audi joined the logo renewal trend followed by automobile manufacturers recently and renewed its iconic four-ring logo. However, the company did not make a large-scale change in its logo, unlike the industry in general. Instead, the four-ring design, which is identified with the company and interlocked, remained unchanged and the logo was given a 2D and more compact appearance.
Audi’s new logo replaces the old chrome-colored rings with new black and white rings. In this way, with a modern look, it not only keeps up with the electric cars that have become popular recently, but also adds a new atmosphere to the corporate identity and emblem style of the automobile manufacturer.
“Good design is less change,” said Marc Lichte, head of design, on Audi’s website. explained in his words. On the other hand, the company said that compared to the existing chrome rings, the renewed design has a black background and white rings that increase the contrast and make them more visible from afar.
Here, the German manufacturer, who wants to offer customers a choice, will also allow customers to customize the rings in the logo with a dark gray to black color instead of white. The updated logo, which first appeared in the Q8 e-tron (2024) family, which was introduced a while ago, is likely to be used in the coming years.
