When the Marvel Cinematic Universe first appeared, mutants were not included in the stories written because the movie rights of the mutants were owned by Fox. Then, with Disney’s acquisition of Fox, mutants were almost back home.

Gradually, we started to hear the word mutant in Marvel productions. We also know that we will watch another Deadpool movie in the future. While teams like the X-Men and other mutants have their origins in a rare X gene in the comics, things will be different in the cinematic universe. The emergence of this gene can be explained by Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Who is this High Evolutionary?

To summarize briefly, High Evolutionary (Herbert Edgar Wyndham) is a supervillain who specializes in genetic mutations and accelerates evolutions. As we know, the name we give to changes in genes is mutation. High Evolutionary can trigger this change as a scientist with superhuman powers.

Although not normally featured in the High Evolutionary MCU, it could be sent to a point in the world’s past, as we saw in the first Ant-Man movie. Thus, we can see that it left the world in the past, leaving only genetic changes behind.

There is not much information about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 at the moment, Marvel continues to work on the movie behind closed doors. It should come as no surprise, however, that High Evolutionary played a role in Rocket Raccoon’s genetic transformation. Thus, the GotG series could be completed.

When we look at his past in comics, High Evolutionary stands out as a character that gave mutant abilities before. This character gave their powers to Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver, which we saw in the MCU before, in the comics.
