Lock screen can be bypassed in 5 steps
The new vulnerability reportedly allows bypassing the lock screen on Android phones with an extra SIM card that locks the PIN. However, the security researcher, who reported the incidentally discovered error to Google last June, manages to bypass the lock screen by entering the correct PUK code on the blocked SIM card after three false attempts. David demonstrates the process in the video below.
According to the source, the issue is caused by a conflict in shutdown calls affecting the stack of security screens. There is currently no list of affected Android phones. However, the latest shared reports show that there are no problems with Samsung devices.
