According to the latest data from Take-Two Interactive, owner of Rockstar Games, 24 million units of the Red Dead series’ sales come from Red Dead Redemption. For Red Dead Redemption 2, this number was announced as 46 million. The published report announces that the series has sold two million copies between June 30 and September 30. It is seen that Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One each managed to sell 1 million copies. This is quite interesting because the original game was released in 2010 and has been around for more than 12 years.
Despite increasing full game sales, the Red Dead franchise is currently in the back seat as Rockstar Games has focused most of its attention on Grand Theft Auto 6. Red Dead Online, the game’s free online multiplayer service, is still active, but Rockstar hasn’t brought any new content here for a while. Earlier reports said that a possible Red Dead Redemption remaster planned for next-gen consoles would come, but these projects are reportedly canceled. There were also rumors about the re-release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but there is no development for now.
